"Sweden 1700, Narva By Romeyn De Hooghe"
Very beautiful print by Romeyn DE HOOGHE (1645-1708). It is an etching signed in the middle at the bottom and measuring 48.5 x 60 cm (58.5 cm x 70 cm with its beautiful old frame). It depicts the battle of Narva - today in Estonia but at the time a Swedish possession -, which saw the victory of the Swedish army over the Imperial Russian army of Peter the Great. The same print was recently sold at auction in Sweden (Uppsala Auktionskammare, Stockholm, 08/12/2021, lot nr 241, sold for 780 Euros excluding fees). The print has foxing, visible in the photographs. Free delivery in Paris possible.
