"Burma / Laos Bronze Rain Drum"
Bronze rain drum with green/brown patina. The tympanum is richly decorated with several concentric registers separated by listels, adorned in the center with a twelve-pointed star and embellished with 4 frogs at the cardinal points. Geometric patterns, flowers, fish are represented. Flanked by two pairs of handles and a series of elephants. Probably Burma or Laos, 19th century. Very good state of conservation. Provenance: Estate of collector and art dealer Claude de Marteau. Sold with certificate of authenticity.
