"Bronze "the Reaper", Signed E.aizelin - 2nd Part Of The Nineteenth"
Bronze "Le Faucheur", signed on the terrace by the French sculptor Eugene-Antoine Aizelin (1821-1902). Pupil of Jules Ramey and Auguste Dumont, Aizelin won various awards during his career, including a gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1889. "Le Faucheur" is a bronze subject with a brown patina representing a young man hard at work with fields. Clogs on his feet and dressed in a jumpsuit, this farmer looks at the horizon while leaning on his scythe. This subject rests on a circular plinth with groove in Portor marble from the Pyrenees.
