"Left Hand Dagger Called "a Veil" - XIX°"
Left hand dagger called "A VOILE", 17th century Spain style, early 19th century period. Blade with flat back and groove 42 cm in length and against cutting edge 15 cm in point. Large ricasso on the heel, pierced with 5 holes and 2 different stylized signs. Blade with remains of engraving on both sides partly erased, see details on the photos. 2 straight steel guard branches ending in a 32 cm long ball. Rocket in the shape of a shuttle disbursed on each side and dressed with a filigree of steel with chevrons terminated by two braids of iron wire forming the terminal ferrules. The pommel is domed on the top with a decoration of spirals and protruding rivet button. Strong veil-type hand protection running from pommel to quillon with hemmed edge.
