"Indochina Double Sided Screen From The 1930s"
Double-sided screen made up of four lacquered and sculpted panels The front, on a gold background with lacquered leaf decorated with a cherry blossom and birds The back, decorated with bamboo and rocks This screen is very versatile. Indeed each side presents a very different theme. The face with floral decorations can be used for a classic Asian theme. The other side with bamboo decorations for a trendy 1970s decoration. Reinforced feet, protected by brass strapping. Beautiful black lacquer in good condition, some slight traces of use on the edges in the lower part, a small repaint on the black lacquer on the back without visible consequences. Provenance: high official in Indochina in the 1930s. Size of a panel: 183 x 41 cm
