Beautiful Inkwell In Marble From The Louis XIV Period

Very beautiful Louis XIV inkwell in marble from the beginning of the 18th century.
a very beautiful model of inkwell in heavily molded marble breccia.
this breach is gray and very colored by the presence of large black and white elements, indeed the whole is agglomerated by a natural cement of gray color.
the effect rendered on the object is magnificent.
it is rectangular with the angles cut and very heavily molded around the perimeter with very deep moldings.
it is double-sided and can be presented on both sides:
one side has a large rectangular cavity rounded at the ends that can form an empty pocket and the other side a set of four cavities forming an inkwell.
we can see the trace of four old small holes plugged on the side with a single cavity where there must have been at one time small feet probably in bronze which were removed and plugged later.
