Large vase with iridescent and cloisonné decorations with 4 handles and signed on the body "Montières" - this piece is listed in the work of Michel Souchon tritant from the Montières factory, page 22 under number 20 in the directory of forms. Made around 1917, at the start of the creation and takeover of the factory by Désiré BORCK, this piece was made by Jean BAROL, an experienced potter who took over the artistic direction of the ceramic workshop. A former student of Clément MASSIER, he was one of the most famous ceramists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries; Manufacture of Montières, circa 1917
