"Large Regency Mirror With Parcloses With Birds"
Important glazing beads mirror in wood and gilded stucco. The main mirror is framed by baguettes decorated à la Bérain. The mirrors with beveled sides framing the latter are decorated at the corners with spandrels forming palmettes, flowers and wavy foliage. At the top, the graceful arched pediment is framed by two chimeras. Moving in the middle of gadrooned volutes, two birds face each other. The glazing beads take place in an eventful frame decorated with leafy, floral motifs and ending with a large palm. This large mirror is particularly representative of the Regency. Its classic lower part is one with an eventful, symmetrical pediment with a balanced decoration. Regency period, 18th century. Usual restorations.
