Designed as a pendant and in contrast, the set enjoyed great popularity and was reproduced in marble, bronze, biscuit and terracotta. These are the children of the architect Alexandre-Théodore Brongniart (1739-1813), famous for the construction of the Paris Stock Exchange (Palais Brongniart), author of the Capicin convent in rue d'Antin.
