"Victor Dupré-1816-1879"
Léon-Victor Dupré, born in Limoges (Haute-Vienne) on June 18, 1816 and died in Paris 10th on October 31, 1879, was a French painter. Cadet and pupil of his brother Jules Dupré (1811-1889), he started at the Salon of 1839 and exhibited until 1878. He painted landscapes of Normandy, Berry, Limousin, as well as Île-de-France . The two brothers settled in 1852 in the hamlet of Fay, between La Souterraine and Argenton-sur-Creuse, devoting themselves to painting on the grounds that they would later continue together in Barbizon. The bill for their work is quite close.
