"“venice” Emmanuel Bocchieri (1910- 1998)"
Emmanuel Bocchieri (1910-1998) is an Italian painter born in Tunis in 1910. He settled in Tunisia in 1930 and studied at the School of Fine Arts, from 1937, under the direction of the orientalist painter Armand Vergeaud (1876-1949) who was a pupil of the symbolist master Gustave Moreau (1826-1898). He exercised his talents at the School of Tunis. He was a landscape painter, portraitist, he practiced the art of mosaic and was deeply in love with the artistic possibilities linked to the colors and light of Tunisia. From 1957, he exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in Paris.
