RUDOLF WELS (Osek, 1882 - Auschwitz, 1944) for MOSER & SOHNE. Art deco vase, "Animor" series. Czechoslovakia, around 1925. Sculpted violet glass, acid-etched and decorated with gilding. Signed on the side and bottom. This vase was created by Rudolf Wels for Moser & Sohne, for their "Animor" series, circa 1925. Rudolf Wels was a Czech architect active in West Bohemia and Prague. His work designing glasses for the Moser company is particularly remarkable. Wels was one of the most important Czechoslovakian architects of the interwar period. He studied at the Vienna Academy with Friedrich Ohmann. In Vienna, he also attended the courses of Adolf Loos, who had a decisive influence on his future creative activity. From the early 1920s, Rudolf Wels worked in Karlovy.the glass is of good quality and very heavy. the model is also interesting.
