Object description :

"Gold And Enamel Ring With A Renaissance Cameo Of Cupid. English, 17th Century."
A gold and enamel ring set with a Renaissance cameo of Cupid.

The ring is probably English, late 17th century and the sardonyx cameo is Italian, 16th century.

Ring size N UK / 6.5 US.

The cameo measures 0.83 x 0.77cm

A fine gold band with fluted shoulders, hands in white enamel hold the bezel in which a high relief sardonyx cameo carved with the head of Cupid (Eros) is set within a rub over setting.

The ring is in original condition and without restoration, there is some loss to the enamel and a small crack to the lower left hand side of the cameo as can be seen clearly in the first two images.
