"Mother Of Pearl Painting Resurrection Of Christ"
Mother-of-pearl painting resurrection of Christ The whole consists of a central motif representing Christ who rises towards the heavens in a radiance of mother-of-pearl and burgau holding in his left hand the Latin cross stamped with a small red cross of Jerusalem. It is flanked by winged angels and cherubs. At his feet two figures resembling Roman warriors sleep while two angels facing each other blow a trumpet. The alternation between the two tones of mother-of-pearl, the magnificent openwork carving of the frame and the sculpture of the mother-of-pearl in the round contribute to giving this painting an air of glory associated with the mystery of the resurrection. In view of the relics that punctuate it, this painting comes from the Holy Land. Beginning of the XX century.
