Inlaid Shaped Chest Of Drawers Walnut XVIIIth

The facade of this 18th chest of drawers is curved in crossbow, inlaid with an interlating decoration also included on the sides and the tray. The latter is subdivided into two parts, with in their centre a beautiful wind rose pattern, whose originality is to have their curved branches. This beautiful dresser is dressed in blonde walnut, the surrounds of the tray, sides and drawers are inlated with an oblique curling, a set of plum fillets surrounded by maple form interlacing and delimit reserves in marquetry of ash magnifying glass wood. The edges of the tray, the sleepers between drawers and the base are made of blackened wood, beautiful falling bronze handles with rosette simulating a shell, the locks are old. The interiors of the drawers were dressed in the 20th century, with a wallpaper with geometric patterns on the background, and Arabic decor on the vertical walls. Some small shortcomings and abrasions observed on the wallpaper. The furniture frame is made of softwood, the drawers are flat bottoms and assembled with a round tail, the back consists of horizontal boards assembled in leaf, these techniques are classic for the designs of 17th and 18th furniture from Alsace, Switzerland and the Rhine countries, the small legs were replaced in the 19th century. This chest of drawers is from the 18th century and in perfect condition, it has been very well preserved and has been little used which explains why they are in very good condition. Its finish has been taken up in our workshops. It will fit into both a classic and contemporary interior.A simulation with a modern work of art suggests the possibilities, the work is signed by the artist Paul Kallos and can be the subject of an individualised offer. The objects as well as the glassware placed on the dresser can also be proposed and quantified, the cut and the blue scroll glass are XXth creations by designer Borek Sipek.
