P., NRF Gallimard, 1963, 1 vol. in-4° (290 x 235 mm) hardcover, spine in unbleached satin canvas, titled in gold and in black, illustrated glossy paper covers, in a wallet case dressed in black and white tailor's fabric and closed with a button, 191 p.
Small "blistering" of the lamination on the upper cover, most certainly original, small foxing at the bottom of the title page, otherwise perfect condition.
Partly original edition and first printing of 33 superb color plates by Carelman, including 3 folding ones, as well as 99 typographical fantasies by Massin. This new edition, revised, corrected, is enriched with a table of contents of exercises in style not carried out and a Study on the loss of information and the variation of meaning in Exercises in Style by Raymond Queneau by doctor Claude Leroy .
Printed in 10,000 copies distributed for one half for Gallimard and for the Club du Livre for the other. Here, 1 of the 150 deluxe copies from Gallimard, (N°C) in special slipcase and including an original linocut signed in pencil by Carelman, and numbered (N°100/150).
Superb achievement !
