The bottle is cylindrical, the body and the lid are decorated with very fine parallel streaks. This work gives it a pleasant grip and a very modern appearance.
The large silver-gilt frame acting as a hinge is decorated with a molded vegetal frieze. It is also chiselled with quatrefoil motifs.
The bottle is complete with its internal emery glass stopper.
The frame is hallmarked:
. Boar's head for silver since 1838
. Goldsmith's hallmark not very legible, probably AG with an unidentifiable mark
Charming salt bottle, very interesting with its striated decoration and its wide vermeil frame. This type of bottle with a large glass lid and a large vermeil frame is typical of Dutch productions of the same period, but it is indeed a French manufacture, probably inspired by the Netherlands.
