Object description :

"French School Circa 1950 : "christ Of Pain""
French school circa 1950: "Christ", glazed ceramic 52 X 36 X 6 cm, mounted on quilted red velvet, itself in a molded oak frame 66 X 48 cm. Little finger of the left hand and right shoulder reattached, a chip on the little toe. Reattached to the bottom with silicone, I had a hard time resisting taking it off to see if it had a signature on the back! This poignant Christ of Sorrow, which the lengthening of the lines renders of a great modernity, although also referring to the Catalan versions of the 12th century, is reminiscent of Alberto Giacometti.
