"Superb Nineteenth Oil Lamp In Crystal Porcelain And Bronze With 3 Fables De La Fontaine."
This superb and large kerosene lamp is in very good condition, with some minimal traces of time. The bobèche is marked Titan as well as Kaestner & Toebelmann. It works perfectly well, the wick goes up and down when you turn the wheel. The tank is crystal. The porcelain body is embellished with three painted medallions encircled with small enamel beads, each representing one of La Fontaine's Fables: the hare and the frogs, the wolf and the lamb as well as the heron and the fox. Everything is enhanced with fine gold. This gilding is partly faded. The bronze base has some small traces of oxidation. Height with its glass: 76 cm. Height without its glass: 53 cm.
