"Quimper. The Lively Quays On The Odet. Lucien Seevagen. XXth."
Beautiful canvas of any kind (to be cleaned if you want) representing the lively quays on the Odet in Quimper. Very pretty light. Lucien Seevagen was a painter born in Chaumont in 1887 and died on the island of Bréhat in 1959. A student at the School of Decorative Arts, he shared his life between Paris and Brittany. Painter of fishermen on the shores of the island of Bréhat. He has a way of his own, subtle and quick, of indicating the architecture of a seascape in its main lines, of uniting the pale blues of the sea with the ochres of the shore. Seevagen exhibits regularly at the Salon des Indépendants, the Salon d'Automne and the Tuileries. His works appear in many books and in several museums. Our painting is signed and located at the bottom left as well as on the back on the frame. dimensions of the canvas, 30 cm x 24 cm. in its pretty frame, 39 cm x 33 cm. Rare and very lively work.
