Isabelle De Ganay was born in Rouen in 1960, she discovered there the same magic of the Norman landscape which inspired the great names of impressionism Monet, Renoir, Sisley, art and nature began to dominate her life . At the age of 12, Isabelle De Ganay was admitted to the famous Beaux Arts de Rouen, an honor rarely awarded to someone so young and revealing her talent. At 16 she met Albert MALLET, one of the masters of contemporary painting, a former pupil of Antoine PINCHON, a post-Impressionist painter, who worked with Camille PISSARO and Claude MONET, among others. After her studies at the JULIAN Academy and the School of Fine Arts in Paris, she was unanimously acclaimed by critics who hailed her unique style and on the death of MALLET in 1986, she naturally succeeded him as master of Rouen school.
