GOTTFRIED BÖHM, Rare light column (Unique piece) in steel and perpex. Provenance: Old library in Cologne, completed in 1968, piece acquired during the destruction of the library in 2012.Gottfried Böhm is one of the greatest German architects, during a study trip to the United States, he worked with Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe and Walter Gropius for whom he had great admiration. He was considered an expressionist architect in the 60s, then recently he was classified as post Bauhaus. During his career, he received numerous awards, including the prestigious American PRITZKER Prize in 1986 before Frank Gehry who received it in 1989 and Oscar Niemeyer in 1988.
