Daniel Fauville
Born in Charleroi in 1953, engraver, sculptor, Belgian painter. Studied graphic and advertising arts at the IATA in Namur. Takes plastic art classes at the ICET in Charleroi. Frequents the silkscreen and engraving workshops at the Academy of Fine Arts in Charleroi. Presents personal exhibitions since 1974. Distinguished at the Prize for Young Belgian Painting in 1985. Represents the French Community of Belgium at the XX Biennial of Saõ Paulo with Gabriel Belgeonne, Pierre Alechinsky and Marc Trivier in 1989. Starting from the landscape that surrounds it , objects or vehicles, Daniel Fauville has arrived at a synthesis of these close to the sign or the writing. The physiognomy of the black country largely inspires his serigraphs which come in pictograms, sometimes black and white, sometimes adorned with muted colors.
