Period XX André Bizette-Lindet, born February 28, 1906 in Savenay and died December 28, 1998 in Sèvres, is a French sculptor and painter, studied at the School of Decorative Arts and Fine Arts under the direction of Injalbert . At 24, he won the Grand Prix de Rome and took part in the Salon des Artistes Français in 1929, where he was received with an honorable mention before becoming a member of the Salon. He also exhibited at the Salon d'Automne, the Salon Comparaisons as well as at the Artists Decorators. In June 1936, he was commissioned by the Ministry of Trade and Industry to decorate the bronze doors of the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, which can still be admired today, inaugurated during the International Exhibition of 1937 and which earned him an honorary diploma. In the inter-war period, he belonged to that figurative movement which, without denying anything of the past and often even referring to Antiquity, was able, following Bourdelle, to break forms and take complete freedom with classic realism. With the 50s, his writing evolves and without any opportunism, he adapts to his time, flirting with non-figuration with the same talent. He collaborates with the Monnaie de Paris as well as with the Manufacture de Sèvres. Sèvres, where he and his sister Soizic, a talented ceramist, had their workshops. Among all of his numerous, diverse and always appreciated works by the public, it is necessary to note the importance of his Monumental Art, sumptuously expressed in Sainte Anne d'Auray. The influence of his Brittany can be felt in his sculpture from the 1950s, as if eroded by wind and salt. His drawn and watercolor work is major. The story of his travels and his loves, it also celebrates the magnificence of the region of Saint Rémy de Provence where he spent all his summers for 50 years. Adventurous traveller, seducer at the "Long Course", André BIZETTE-LINDET was a true "Child of the 20th century", guardian of a fierce independence but anchored in reality by his intimate link with Architecture, sister of sculpture since the night of time.
