Very beautiful self-portrait by Fernand Jeanneau made on January 26, 1924 for the autumn salon of the same year. It wore the number 929, still attached to its frame. It is an oil on paper mounted on cardboard. Good general condition, the paper is slightly damaged at the ends and is curled. Slight frame wear on top. Fernand Jeanneau (1884-1966) is a Breton painter. He was born in 1884 in Chatellerault (Vienne) and died in Lorient in 1966. He joined the Navy in 1907 as a pharmacist. He spent a large part of his life in Quimperlé where he lived on Place Gambetta. He has represented Quimperlé and its surroundings on many occasions. He also painted many Breton scenes and Tunisia. He exhibited at many salons and was a Knight of the Legion of Honor. Rare self-portrait of the artist. The city of Quimperlé has several works by the artist.
