"Edouard Michel: Portrait Of Gaston Cadix, Drawing"
In the 1880s, the publication of the illustrated catalog of the SAF required artists to send a drawing of the painting they wanted to exhibit, so that an engraver could transfer this drawing to the catalog. The drawing presented is autograph executed by the painter from his painting. Drawing signed lower right: E Michel, titled upper left, annotated lower margin: Michel Edouard pupil of MM Ed Baille, J. Machard and H. Lehmann, 66 rue Notre Dame des Champs, Portrait of Monsieur Gaston Cadix. 1m37 x 0.91m. Edouard Michel, engraver, decorator competed for the Prix de Rome in 1881. Gaston Cadix (1877-1970), son of the painter Albert Cadix, writer, poet, pastor and local historian.
