"17th Century Carved Wood Panel"
This oak bas-relief illustrates the presentation of Jesus in the temple by Joseph and Mary who hand over the child to the old man Simeon, in the presence of Anne the prophetess, and an angel bringing light. The scene is framed by two columns whose capitals are absent.
