Circa 1780 France or Europe Sumptuous court coat and waistcoat in miniature velvet densely embroidered in satin stitch, velvet appliqué and painted quills dating from the last quarter of the 18th century! Suit complete with 24 buttons and three buttonholes, pockets trimmed with flaps, elbow sleeves with folded down cuffs. Matching waistcoat complete with 11 buttons, back of ecru wool cloth (moth holes) and cream satin lining. The embroidery with vegetal design of pansies, roses and grasses is remarkable in particular for the canetille tassels and cutouts of painted velvet. Some traces of rust on the velvet and lacunary lining in the back and on the shoulders loaded with horsehair. Good structural condition of the velvet and embroidery.
