"Lacquer Vase, Arita, Japan, Meiji Era (1868-1912)."
Porcelain vase painted with a convex black, red and gold lacquer. This rare technique was sometimes used on Arita porcelain objects. The decoration shows on both sides of the vase two pairs of pheasants surrounded by rocks, bamboos and flowers. In addition, smaller scenes with birds and flowers as well as very intricately painted geometric ornamental friezes are depicted.

State of conservation as seen in the photographs, porcelain without loss, there are losses of lacquer.
