"Narrow Library In Walnut And Thuya, Louis XV Taste - Late Nineteenth"
This narrow bookcase opens on the front with two glass doors mounted on very discreet brass hinges. The top of these doors, with an asymmetrical cutout, is molded inside. The surround, in walnut veneer arranged across, is matched giving a slight fantasy to the piece of furniture. These openings are equipped with a functional original lock with bronze entries and key. The lower part has two drawers, with bronze handles, whose front is veneered in thuya with a walnut surround. The interior offers four adjustable shelves on racks. The uprights are veneered in light walnut, they end in small crowbars with bronze shoes at the front. The low, refined crosspiece has a cul-de-lamp with a chiseled motif of leaves and flowers. The sides are made of three parts of cedar veneer, arranged in butterfly wings, surrounded by light wood. The wooden top is overflowing. This narrow and sober bookcase will seduce with its shallow depth and its personality due to the arrangement of its veneers. ******** Period: Late 19th century Excellent condition.
