Pretty gouache on paper around 1830/40, representing the Bosphorus Strait with ships, and in the background the Saint Sophia Cathedral and various buildings of present-day Istanbul. Animated and very lively scene, with beautiful colors. Interesting testimony to how Constantinople looked in the 19th century. Perfect state of conservation. Work presented in a gray passe-partout. Dimensions: 36.5 X 24 cm for the gouache alone.
