Superb bronze subject with two patinas on a green and white veined marble base, signed G. OMERTH, representing a bather with a cap in the "Seaside" spirit of the 1900s. Art Nouveau period. Rare subject and until now never met, because this artist mainly produced chryselephantines. Height 37 cm Base base 7.5cm 2.1 kg Georges OMERTH was a pupil of the famous sculptor CARRIER-BELLEUSE, and worked as a sculptor between 1895 and 1925. He exhibited in the salons of the society of French artists in Paris, at the beginning of the Twentieth century. OMERTH has made many statuettes and sculptures of children, women and men in the classical, art nouveau and art deco styles, mostly for the art publisher and founder Edmond ETLING. He used materials such as bronze, chryselephantine, ivory, zinc and porcelain biscuit.
