Rare and complete set of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves by French Company Clelia
Made in France under Disney license in 1938, this ensemble of 8 soft dolls was made by Clelia in Coeuilly-Champigny, near Paris. Snow White came in two sizes, this offered here being the smallest standing 38 cm (15 inches). The dwarves as well were produced in two sizes, these being the smallest and standing 15 cm (6 inches) without the bonnets. They have been preserved in good condition. Each doll is made of stuffed cloth with a felt mask that had a special water proof treatment, similar at the patent used by Lenci during the same years. On Snow White, the water-proof coating is thicker and very well preserved. Her brunette mohair wig is kind of sparse but original. Fully factory original, these characters are difficult to find as a complete set.
