Very beautiful framed lithograph of an elegant woman in a hat by Janusz DE ROLA Circa 1970 Dimensions with frame 88x53 cm Listed and referenced artist: He was born in Poland into a family of princely nobility. His father is a friend of the famous Emperor of Austria-Hungary, François-Joseph. After studying in Vienna (Austria), he entered the diplomatic career as vice-consul of Poland in Sicily and pursued a cultural and diplomatic career until 1939. Volunteered in 1939 in the Polish forces fighting alongside the French troops, the chances of war lead him to Nice. He will reside there after the armistice and will meet his wife there. He then lived in Vienna in the 1960s (Salesianer Gasse, 7), then in the Var, in Pignans (at the Domaine de la Cressonniere from 1971) and finally in Gonfaron from 1981 until his death in 1991. a "Nansen passport", he would remain stateless after the war. Between 1940 and 1950 he was a pupil of the painter Sylvain Vigny. He joins a group that includes Picasso, whom he meets. Since the fifties Janusz de ROLA imposed his figurative painting, in particular his famous "elegant", works acquired by the greatest collections. In the early 1970s he met the painter Roger Boubenec who would become his friend and who would say of him: "He was the man of Europe: painter, poet, musician. It is to him that I owe the visual sense of the composition". Janusz from ROLA received the title of artist of the year 1986 awarded by the largest German magazine in the cultural field, "Madame". In 1987 the journal Art Sud devoted an article to him in its first issue. Salvatore Lombardo, founder of the magazine, will pay homage to him in a small collection published in 1991. Official portraitist of the Saudi royal family, he also produced the portraits of Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot.
