Paul SZASZ Budapest 1912 Paris 1970 Composition 62 - oil on canvas - signed lower right dated 62 - 46 x 55cm Hungarian artist who arrived in Paris in 1948, his work is steeped first of all in Fauvism and Expressionism until 1954. Then he moves on to non-figuration and the abstract. He was represented by the Simone Heller gallery. First exhibition in Budapest then he exhibited in Parisian galleries in 1960 and 1963. In 1966, detecting the perfect knowledge of Matisse - Rouault - or Chagall but reconsidering his own sensibility he evolves to abstraction based on a colored sensibility which is developed in contact with nature during frequent stays in the Balearic Islands.
