Very interesting Hemba statue, Janus with a female and a male leaning against each other, represents the founding couple of the Hembas, our Adam and Eve! Beautiful patina of use, a reliquary hole under the base, with a black bakelite base, knocks, cracks, wear... It still has its magic charge, the bilongo, on the top of the skull, with, it would seem, nails or small wooden pegs stuck in them. From a Versailles collection. Height 43cm.
