"Pair Of Paintings By François Boucher Engraved By Jacques-firmin Beauvarlet"
A pair of hand-colored romantic classic French etchings by Jacques-Firmin Beauvarlet (1731-1797) after paintings by François Boucher (1703-1770).


"Le Plaisir de la Chasse" depicts a romantic scene in which a young man and two young women hide behind bushes, under a statue of two putti, lying in wait to catch small birds in their trap.

"Le Plaisir de la Pêche" depicts a young man and two women near a pond with a country house in the background.
The young man teaches one of the women to fish.

The prints are presented in identical gilt frames with classic mats.
The prints can't be dated exactly as they are framed. Each of the frames measures 46.5 cm 18.3 inches x 36.5 cm 14.3 inches. They are in excellent condition and ready to hang.

These prints are part of the collection of the British Museum.
