Mikhail Yakovlev (1880 - 1942) Painter, draftsman and theater designer born and died in Russia. Studied at the Stroganov School from 1898 to 1900, then at the Penza Academy from 1900 to 1901. He then follows the courses of Ilya Repin at the Academy of Saint-Petersburg. He will be successively symbolist and impressionist. His activity as a painter was doubled, from 1910, by that of decorator at the Moscow theatre. Lived in France and Belgium (1923-1937). Lives in Moscow from 1937 to 1941.
