Louis LEYDET (1873-1944) Figure on the way 1891, oil on canvas, 46 x 55 cm, signed, located in "Aix", dated 1891, lower left. On the back on the frame dedication to Jean Niollon.
Painter born in Aix en Provence, Louis Leydet was very early supported by Paul Cézanne who noticed very early the quality of his painting. In 1902, in a letter to Charles Camoin he wrote: "I have received news from Claude Monet and the card from Louis Leydet, son of the Senator from Aix. The latter is of the same ideas as you and me.
