Painter of history, genre scenes, portraits, animated landscapes, landscapes, waterscapes, seascapes, engraver.

His masters were Soulary and L. Cogniet.

From 1869 to 1880, he sent portraits and some genre subjects to the Paris Salon.
He obtained as rewards: honorable mention 1883, medals: third class 1884, second class 1886, silver medal 1889 (Universal Exhibition). Knight of the Legion of Honor, 1893, gold medal 1900 (Universal Exhibition).
Member of French Artists since 1883.

During his career he abandoned the historical genre to devote himself to landscape, specializing in paintings of picturesque sites in the South of France. His paintings are luminous.

He often likes to use wide perspectives allowing the spectator to admire the landscapes such as a photograph
