François Francis Furet, of French origin, has spent his entire artistic career in Geneva. Pupil of Barthélémy Menn, he devoted himself to landscape and decorative painting; he is the author of a large panorama of the Swiss Alps.
François Furet is a member of "Emules" (Auguste Baud-Bovy, Edmond Ravel, Hugues Bovy, Léon Gaud).
First exhibition in Geneva in 1861. He frequented the Bovy phalanstery in Gruyères, met Corot there, shared a studio with Baud-Bovy which brought together famous emigrants, including Gustave Courbet, a political emigrant in Switzerland.
Participation in the decoration of the Grand Théâtre de Genève (1879), diorama of the Blümlisalp (1886), panorama of Baud-Bovy (1891-1892).
Medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889, Legion of Honor in 1896.
Exhibits frequently in Geneva (1861-1898).
