By the much appreciated master silversmith Charles Harleux, superb vegetable dish covered in solid silver. Posing on a pedestal with turbulent contours, the body with six pinched ribs is flanked by raised foliated handles, richly foliated at the applique points. The lid is worked in the same way, to the model, in a flared dome, its animated contours festpnnés nets; it is crowned with a fretel, a sumptuous pomegranate branch, magnificently chiselled, whose split fruit, leaning over its leafy terrace, serves as a catch. The high quality of Harleux goldsmithery is very significant here with this elegant vegetable dish with extremely meticulous details. This piece remains moderate in weight and proportions while having a large capacity, thus allowing a use and a pleasant grip on a table, being able to pass from hand to hand with great ease. No deformation, no knocks or bumps, usual micro-scratches from use, excellent conditions. Hallmark of French guarantee Minerva 1st title 950/1000 on fretel and piedouchouche. Hallmark of the Harleux silversmith on the reverse: "HARLEUX" in full, a third of a circle and a hammer for symbols. With this same hallmark, we also find, from the first quarter of the 19th century, Jen-Baptiste HARLEUX (ACTIVE 1832-1875).
