Napoleon III period secretaire simulating 8 drawers in black wood inlaid with interlacing composed of mother-of-pearl, brass, rosewood. The sides are inlaid with a brass mesh frame. The interior of the secretary also called "theater" is in maple wood to contrast with the black wood and has two drawers inlaid with diamonds in rosewood and lemon tree fillet. The flap is covered with its original midnight blue velvet, chiseled brass lock.
