Large solid silver dish, made in Paris in 1768 and stamped with the farmers general.The dish is oval in shape, the edges are scalloped and molded with fillets.
The rim is engraved with a coat of arms under a count's crown: mouth (?) has three silver lions (?) crowned? The engraving being faded over the centuries, it is difficult to read.
On the back, the dish is engraved with the number NH.
It is a beautiful work of old-fashioned goldsmithery, entirely mounted with a hammer.
The dish is hallmarked:
. Letter date: E crowned for 1768
. Charge hallmark: A crowned, used between 1768 and 1774
. Goldsmith's hallmark: JLM with a negro's head, for Jean Louis Morel, inculcated on December 7, 1748.
. Relief punch: a woman's head turned to the right
. Punch of posterior control: boar's head
