Object description :

"Carriage Clock Grand Sonnerie And Small Seconds Leroy Et Fils 236 Regent Street London"
Travel clock No. 6056 with grand strike and small seconds at noon + alarm clock/alarm signed LEROY et FILS Hrs 13 and 15 Palais Royal PARIS; 236 Regent Street LONDON on the dial.
It is also engraved in the shop at the back below behind the gong: ironed by Leroy et Fils Hrs Palais Royal 13 and 15 PARIS
The rolling bench number N°1730 is stamped on the front with the initials HL signature of the manufacture of rolling benches Hollingues is Frères supplier among others of the house of Henri JACOT manufacturer of top-of-the-range travel clocks in the 19th century (see photo before restoration of the movement)
This clock has a 3-position Petite Sonnerie/Silence/Grande Sonnerie adjustment lever located below. You can see the photo of the attachment of the two gongs in blued steel (a stamp stamped representing a salamander or other reptile with legs).
The escapement is Swiss anchor, it is gilded with a bicompensated balance.
The minute hand is definitely not original.
The gilding of the bronzes is worn as is often the case on travel clocks.
The movement (striking and hourly rate) operates over 8 days, so the time and the striking have to be reset every week.
The clock has been completely restored, the cage and the movement have been dismantled piece by piece, cleaned and reassembled.
Its operation is guaranteed by our watchmaking workshop.
The photos are not retouched: the object is prettier in real life than in the photos, no bad surprises, it is a choice on the part of our workshop. All the work carried out on this clock is carried out in compliance with the ethical rules for the restoration of watchmaking objects, i.e. without modifying or embellishing the timepiece and using mineral or synthetic oils and greases for lubrication. of the range (Moebius...) PRECAUTIONS AND ADVICE: it is advisable to handle the clock with cotton gloves to avoid oxidation of the gilded brasses by the sweat of the fingers (if fingerprints must be left immediately without waiting pass a soft cloth without product ), respect the direction of the arrows for setting the time and for setting the alarm clock ). It should not be exposed near a heat source (fireplace in operation, radiators, halogen spotlights, sunlight) There is no work to be done on this beautiful clock. The next service must be done within 7 to 10 years (aging of the oils, which oxidize, causing wear on the pivot points) all reasonable purchase proposals will be examined and will receive a response. Keep in mind the work done and the rarity of this clock
