Circa 1855 France or Europe Precious round crinoline promenade dress in white cotton muslin or organdi dating from the beginning of the Second Empire. Dress with puffed sleeves, crew neck with folded pleats and closed in the back with small pass mother-of-pearl buttons. Very beautiful handmade creation of finely openwork bather pleats and religious pleats on the skirt, the bodice and the bottom of the sleeves tightened at the wrists. Pilgrim collar with integrated plastron and remarkable assembly of the waist in tiny rows of organ pipes, ancestor of smocks.
