Large oil on canvas of exceptional quality representing two seated characters waiting for their soup served by a delicious servant, two hunting dogs pointing their muzzles on the table. This extremely lively painting is remarkable for its composition and the many objects represented on the table and in the background: the steaming soup tureen presented by the young servant, a pot of mustard, a pipe, a box of matches, mismatched crockery, glasses of a beautiful transparency and glazed ceramic pitcher, in the background a dresser presenting various ceramic pieces, a cauldron on the ground at the bottom right still steaming with soup....
