"Facade Crown In Cast Bronze, Gilded With Leaf. Europe 19th Century Or Before."
Sconce crown in cast bronze. Cold-gilt with gold leaf on a black lacquer base. It is surmounted by a cross "pattée". The good quality casting was probably executed in sand. The finishes are neat. On the reverse there is no trace of fixing. However, it is reasonable to think that this crown must have been part of an architectural ensemble, such as a door top, a grille element or other. Old work, difficult to date, probably 19th century or earlier. 275x275x45mm. Good condition.
