Object description :

"Beautiful Vendéen Cabinet In Walnut From The Beginning Of The XIX Eme Century"
Charentais Standing Man Or Vendéen Cabinet In Walnut Beginning Of The XIX Eme Century. Handsome standing man from the Charentes also known as Vendée cabinet in solid walnut dating from the beginning of the 19th century.
this standing man has a beautiful front composed of two large doors each concealing a shelf around two large deep drawers.
this facade is nicely worked in the spirit of louis XV with beautiful moldings and fretwork in the work of the doors and in the low crosspiece.
the doors and the upper and lower crosspieces are decorated with cherry wood inlays representing leafy branches, the planks chosen for the door panels offer a symmetrical pattern in the ramageous vein of walnut which pleasantly embellishes the facade.
the piece of furniture rests on Louis XV doe feet.
the fittings are original with a pretty lace-up sheet allowing the doors to be opened and very beautiful finely crafted iron keyholes typical of Charente furniture.
the locks are original and work with their keys.
the crosspieces of the sides are fretted and the sides are compartmentalized into three parts symmetrically to the distribution of the facade.
the front uprights are slightly chamfered announcing the arrival of the 19th century.
The cornice is finely molded with a very pretty profile and harmoniously covers the furniture.
the drawers are dovetailed and slide perfectly.
minor use and maintenance restorations, preventive xylophene treatment carried out.
a lot of regional furniture in solid walnut with a very nice patina.
