"Small Oak Slope Desk, Directoire Taste - 2nd Part Nineteenth"
Charming sloping desk in solid oak, small in size and embellished with marquetry on the front. This piece of furniture is equipped with a flap whose perimeter has a molding. In the center, it is endowed, in an oval, with a marquetry of foliage in light wood on a green background. We notice a bronze entrance with original lock in working order and its posterior key. Open, the flap rests on each side on a zipper. The interior part is made up of four drawers in a slight gradient, the fronts of which present in the center a light wood surrounded by brown mahogany. These are pulled by a brass lens button. This desk has a secret hiding place and concealed closing systems for three of its drawers. Below, this piece of furniture has a drawer on each side, of the same size, pulled by a bronze ring handle chiseled with foliage and which can be blocked by a clever system of wooden pull tabs. This piece of furniture rests on four sheathed legs ending in a brass shoe. It will seduce by its natural color, its manufacturing quality and its small dimensions. ******** Period: 2nd part of the 19th century Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop.
